In three dimensional systems there are 32 crystal
classes or point groups. In two dimensions there are only 10 point
groups: 1, 2, m, 2mm, 4, 4mm,
3,
6, 3m and 6mm.
In this activity you are invited to analyze the figure exhibiting one
of the 10 point groups patterns with disks in order to answer the following
question: what is the symmetry class or point group recognized in the
figure?
